would like to know the best cell phone & cel service or provider in the nation of D R,

I would like to bring a cell phone to my friend from Canada but I am not sure which one would be best suitable for the DR. Could someone please give me some advice..... or would it be better and cheaper to just buy one in POP

Any anolog cell phone from Bell will work in the DR, digital phones from Canada don't seem to work there, and the phones from Rodgers and Cantel/AT&T don't work there either.

Its definitely cheaper to bring one from home, Canada. Digital service is better but is a little more expensive if you have a monthly service.

The phone I use in the D.R. is a Qualcomm 2760 (digital & analog)
which I bought in Canada. It works perfectly. Before throwing away the box don't forget to note the master code since you'll need it to activate to phone in the D.R.
