Here's the restaurant's address..
Aquiles Ramirez (Ave. Metropolitana), 51101 Santiago, Rep?blica Dominicana
First the decor and ambiance, I will attach some pics so you can get a visual also. It is a very casual and laid back restaurant. My favorite part about it is that it's located in a really nice area of Santiago (Los Jardines) but it doesn't seem overly pretentious like a lot of the nearby restaurants can sometimes.. I definitely didn't feel out of place in shorts and sandals which is my typical attire. The service is good and the waiter even remembered how I like my guacamole (no tomatoes or onions) which felt nice. It was only my second time visiting Charro's so I was surprised. The menu is pretty simple and it definitely had a Chipotle type feel if you are used to visiting them in the US.

Next will be the food.. I tried 3 different orders so I could have an idea of what the restaurant had to offer. Before initially trying Charro's, I honestly didn't expect much.. I had been disappointed in a lot of Mexican places in the DR and especially Santiago so I went in skeptical.
I ordered one order of tacos de res mechada (shredded beef), pork carnitas (shredded pork), and flautas (rolled tacos). The portion sizes were good and I would expect most people to order about 2 orders of tacos to be satisfied. The orders of tacos were 180$ pesos each so 360$ pesos for 4 nice sized tacos seems pretty fair for me. ONE NOTE: The menu says that impuestos (taxes) are included but on the bill there is a 10% ley which most consider to be a tax, I think this should be noted on the menu.
The tacos on the left are the res mechada, the right side are carnitas, and the 3 rolled tacos are the flautas. I was assured that all of the sauces are made in house and as far as I can tell it seems to be that way. The chipotle sauce is vibrant and spicy and I added it to everything but the rolled tacos. The tacos themselves are pretty flavorful and I thought they were very good. The carnitas had good flavor but were a little bit on the dry side. The rolled tacos are my favorite and I thought they were really good. The homemade sour cream has a different flavor to the store bought brands and I enjoyed it. One thing I was missing was finely shredded iceberg lettuce which I love to put on my tacos so that would have been nice to have.

Overall, for under 1200$ pesos, I felt like we had a very good semi-authentic mexican meal with good service in a good location. I will be going back and was happy to find a good mexican place in Santiago to eat. Considering the fair prices, good service, and location, I would give Charro's a 4.5 out of 5 rating..
