cheap flights from uk
Try the High Street travel agents offering AI holidays to the DR who will sell flight-only deals for relatively little. I and many people I know have got these deals from the UK, once for as little as #120 return (no pound sign on this PC).
The drawback is that you cannot set the dates or the airport of your choice, you have to take what is available and are usually limited to a 2 week stay. Others may have more up-to-date info as I am referring to my experience up to about 3 years ago.

I tried last year to get a cheap flight only, but came up against brick walls all the time. The cheapest I could find on the net were coming up at around ?800 with 3 or 4 connections, and total travel time of around 13 to 15 hours!!! I found it was cheaper by far to just book AI.

Try Martinair they flying from Amsterdam directly to the DR as follows:
Get a flight from their mother airline KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from the UK (London???) to Amsterdam and then connecting to Martinair
Martinair schedulles:
3 x weekly AMS-POP
3 x weekly AMS-PUJ
1 x weekly AMS-SDQ
the flights are not directly their is one stop at POP,PUJ and HOG diferent flights. more information www.martinair.com or www.klm.com
and ask your travel agent

The cheapest option is the charter service operated by AIRTOURS and Britannia. It is about 350-4509 GBP for rt.
Cheap flights from UK
There are lots of cheap options but not all to the airports in DR that you would like. We've recently found flights for as little as 185 pounds sterling to La Romana and from 200 to 277 pounds from LGW to POP and they're always seats on Air 2000, First Choice, Brittania Airways, etc.

The last one gives you a whole list of contacts and then you have to shop around.
Best prices seem to be about 6-8 weeks before you want to fly!
We've got a big extended family and therefore have to do this sort of thing all the time, however, family of 4 paid 227 quid each recently and then an old Aunt decided to join in and had to pay 400 plus for a seat on the same flight!!
By the way these are generally for 14 days stay only as they relate to charter dates and trips.
