Cheap hotel near Las Americas?
i dont know if this hotel can provide transportation to and from their place, its real nice, inexpensive and close to the highways going to the North [i am assuming you mean Samana and or the Cabarete area] give it a shot

I stayed at the Hotel Freeman in the Zona Colonial in Santo Domingo. It's about 20 minutes from the airport (I found it easily at night and it was my first time ever in SD) and costs $35.00 per night.
Since you're looking for a place to stay just for one night before heading North the next day, it'd be a good choice I think. It's where I'd go again if I went to the capital again.

With an early departure, if it were me I would want something in SD, near the bus station. Closer to the airport, but in the wrong direction, is Boca Chica, which has a lot of budget options, but that would mean a longer taxi ride in the morning.

If you are catching a Caribetours bus this hotel is not far from the station in Santo Domigo on Ave Feberero 27. Aladino Aparta Hotel. Other than that there are cheap rooms( US$35) 15 minutes from the airport in Boca Chica. It realy depends on where you are catching your bus to the "north".
