Cheap Tickets

Hello Everyone!
I just got back from the RD lasr week and I am already planning my next trip down. I would like to know what airline you think have the lowest rates in the summer for flying from Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto to anywhere in the RD.

I think Westjet (during their "seat sales") is probably one of the cheapest if the winter charters aren't running. Plus, they fly out of all three. I'm from Ottawa, and got a trip to POP for about 600 taxes in.

There is a "seat sale" from WestJet and best I can tell if you want to leave Ottawa on Nov 2, 2008 and stay till Dec 16th you can get $175 each way plus taxes = $592.15 CAD other than that anything reasonable (stay length I mean) is a minimum of $354 each way with taxes equals $950.15 CAD so if you can get there and back for $600 thats great but I have been shopping a lot for that route and I don't think $600 is very realistic.

WestJet isn't flying here (DR) right now. They don't start again until November 2.

Your best bet for cheap tickets is the charters if you have the ability to go last minute. I just checked Sunseekers - Your discount travel specialist! and they are selling round trip YYZ to POP (leaving Sunday for 1 week) for $74.88!! Mind you...the taxes are $368.00...but you still get a round trip, air only ticket for $442.88! Not too bad if you ask me! :classic:

There is a web site Skyauctions.com, might be skyauction.com. It's like ebay. You bid on tickets etc. We had 6 months to use them, but you have to read the disclaimers. Got our tickets at half price. Sometime tickets for DR are there sometimes not, but if you have time to play with it's worth a look. It worked for us.

You can compare pricing & if you aren't comfortable you can book over the phone or in person at their office.

Just to give you an example....in august aircanada was charging $2042 plus taxes return for 1 week and aircanadavactions was $660 including the tax.

okay thanks you've all been really helpful! I'm planning on going in the summer though, for about 1 month if that makes any difference. I thought flights would be cheaper in the summer but they weren't at all last time i went.
