Opened a week ago, first one in the Dominican Republic.

It's above Haagen-Dazs on Av. Texas (Los Jardines).

How Ironic that Chilis is above Haagan Daz

Great compliment though, as I think that's it's a great idea and that will only help the area to prosper.

Might be worth a trip from the north coast if their southwestern eggrolls and fajitas are as good as in the U.S.

Going to check it out today, hope it's the same as in the states.
I'll try and get a menu and post it in this thread.

We ride by Hagen Daaz a couple of times a week and ponder what people are paying for an icecream.

At any rate, as far as Santiago restaurant businesses go e' pa'lante que vamos.

Mmmmmm haagen dazs. I had a giant bowl of ice cream there when I was in Santiago last. It was probably the most delicious 10,000 calories I ever ate. I didn't find the place to be overly expensive but not as cheap as Bon.

Outback made a great Toasted Coconut Chocolate Fudge Sundae, but last time in the States, the local Outback said they have done away with it. Too hard to get the proper Toasted Coconut is what my wife told me they said.

That was the only reason we went to Outback, just for that Sundae.

I hope the quality of the service and food will be the same as it's in the US.
I have been in TGI Fridays once but the food was one of the worst, the lowest quality ever - for a lot higher price than you pay in the US.
No more Fridays for me in the DR.

Anyway, I'm waiting for reviews on the Chilis.

Went to chilis in santiago last night. I was in the mood for a juicy american style burger. I must say, the swiss mushroom burger even beats the chef pepper famous burgers. Excellent service, spacious restaurant and the girls who work there are hand picked by some guy with good taste. The girls in the wait staff are sweet but aggressive, they are trained to make people order more and more items from the menu. They recommend foods and insist upon bring them. It didn't really bother me as the girls were very sweet and pleasing to talk to. My dominican friend wasn't even hungry but he ended up ordering hot wings. He already had a huge dinner at a restaurant before he came to pick me up. Don Roberto (dr1) had Cajun chicken sandwich. Warning, the burgers are huge and tall. Need a super big mouth to eat one. I did just fine.
The place was packed with young crowd. I think I was the oldest one there, general population there didn't go above 27 with majority were under 22. Seems like people came in their best attire and girls were dressed as if they were going to a modeling casting session. The finest girls of santiago were there. So please, before you think of taking you sosua girlfriend there, think twice. Your girl may feel uncomfortable sitting among the regular crowd. Just my observation.
I would imagine, chilis will kill TGI fridays. I saw what other people were eating there and judging from the menu and the plates on other table, chilis menu is far superior to TGI's.
Viva Chilis.

I just came back from AZB's house and he said the burger was fantastic, extra extra large and juicy. He believed the price was at 325 DP. and worth every peso.
