The Cincinnati Reds star had a performance for the ages while using the new style of bat for the first time, going 4-for-5 with two home runs, seven RBIs and four runs scored in a 14-3 win over the Texas Rangers.

The new bats seem to work well compared to the old bats.

First time I've ever heard of this type of bat or a bat being tailor-made for a player in this way.

Some players used these bats last year, according to what I've heard on sports talk shows the last few days. I'm sure a lot more are going to try them out. They look a lot like softball bats...wonder why it took this long for them to be tried in MLB.
