Has anyone noticed a boost ...( a noticeable...free..increase)...in Claro Fiber Optic internet speed lately?

Word is that they are introducing new plans ....so existing plans would be automatically upgraded ......to more than twice or triple existing speeds🚀...at the same price...gradually...by the end of September /October latest ....

The kids are saying it's already faster.....and with Starlink now in the mix ..... is slow internet now a thing of the past in DR ?....🤔 ....Don't play with us Claro...😬😄"

Yes, today I went from 200Mbps/50Mbps to 300Mbps/75Mbps, which was suppose to happen beginning November.

fast.com is a lot easier to use.

My wife has the Claro Fiber Optic and shes on the 300/75 plan and said will upgrade to 1Gpbs down and 250mpbs up in early 2024

Most of the new customers ( at one of our gyms in DR) are Gen Z ..... they seem to be more active on their 'socials' while at the gym than actually working out. ....so they've come to expect "super fast" free WIFI as a gym amenity.....

I think they come because posting to their "followers " from the gym seems to be a crucial part of their "influencer" lifestyles...but what do I know ....and who am I to judge? 🤷‍♂️

It's a different world fueled by fast internet speeds.....

Claro still hasn't upgraded our business WIFI 🤔🤔, which prompted my question. Maybe businesses are excluded from the upgrade... not sure ...but ya veremos! 😬

Claro offers pre-paid 4G internet on mobiles only of 1 Day 1G 50p, 3 Days 3G 95p, and 5 Days 5G 145p ..., something called Paquetes Libres... , after capacity runs out it throttles to 756kps - slower than that I found...

No other longer term option/capacity, the speed is not bad but I used to get 30 days packs some 10 years ago, this is way below standards in other countries...!? (Postpaid not useful for temp visitors...).
