I'm not sure, but I think you can call this another infrastructure project.

As one of us who has experienced the traffic nightmare that is Avenida de Colombia, I was happy to hear they were going to do a major infrastructure to alleviate the problem.

I didn't realize just how big it would be.

They are going to modernize everything from Los Proceres (Botanical Gardens) all the way to beyond Pricesmart.

When I lived there, there was very little in the way of apartments and construction from Sol Poniente to the west.

For those of you who know, look how much the area has grown, and more importantly, the size of this entire project:

You may want to watch it twice to take it all in.

And, at KM 9. the amount of lanes is now 12, soon to be 16 lanes - 8 in each direction.

I'm gonna call this another continuing infrastructure project:

And plans are still being formed for the Ambar highway from Santiago to Puerto Plata, which is expected to include a rail option for cargo and passengers.

And, let's not forget how things are going at the Plaza de Bandera

Check out the artificial lagoon where floodwaters from Isabela Aguiar will be directed.

Another small item: They have installed traffic signals (still non-working as of last Sunday) at the intersection of San Isidro Autopista y Avenida Ecologia. It's generally a mess except on Sunday mornings and you have to be agressive to cross.

This one, I will file under the 'Will believe it when it is completed in 2100' section
Not just hot air. Did you watch the video? A lot of work has already been done.

I didn't know a railway was in the works but it makes sense.

I tried and I appreciate that guy for pulling in information but a lot of dates were in 2021 and one in 2023 and the last one say and any pictures shown were computer generated. the route shown on maps to looked to be similar to the Ruta Turistica that ends in Gran Parada but that is a very hilly route. All in all, a lot of aspiration but I cannot see photos of work already completed. Upto 15 mins about the initial announcement, then property website and the talks about the company and contract etc but no actual photos or videos of the work being done or having been completed. Compared to the other videos on27 de Febrero or KM 9, this is still hot air

I see your point, This guy didn't impress me much either. I wanted to show it's not a dead project.

To be honest, I would love if they did actually make this project a reality, would be awesome to go from Santiago to POP or Cabarete in under an hour by road.
But as I have learnt, infra projects in the DR need a long time to complete and some are just dreams
