I'm dominican but grew up in the USA. I have used 'el concho' in Dr but I do not know what it means.. Could it be because getting in - out is bother..
somethig like 'damm, here I go out again so that John Doe can get off?

Gracias,

Concho is an interjection used to denote displeasure, being uncomfortable, etc. Many people in DR refer to the public transportation as concho so I guess you answered your own question.

Take care,

I suspect the term was first used as a verb, 'conchar', and it probably derived from the art of fishing, 'pescar conchas en la orilla del mar', or 'conchar'. Later, the verb was nounized to 'concho'...

maybe because we all have to squeeze into a space about as tight as a shell? Or maybe becuase so many of the cars look like they are on their last legs, so they are sort of "conchos" or the dregs.

concho is the tamed version of co?o. Back in the days, people would opt for concho instead of the bad work. So when you hear someone say concho, they really mean to say co?o or more like co?.......o. Make sure to hold the ? a little longer.
