I met some nice people from Constanza last week in Atlantic City NJ. They were telling me how cold it is there. What is it like in March ? Thanx, SG

They had some weather that was cold by Dominican standards, but not really all that cold. Most days, its about ten degrees colder than the lower elevations of the country. I went there last week and it was absolutely beautiful. It was 74F and sunny. Once the sun began to set, the temp. dropped quickly to 68F and probably went a little lower over night. The area is amazingly picturesque. There are a couple of hotels near the center of town. The road up from Duarte Hwy is about 60K and is brand new, however, somewhat challenging due to the curves and steepness.

Why did not wait next day 6:00 am in the morning when it goes down to freezing point?
I remember the first time on my way to Constanza I had to back up as the car I was driving did not have a heater system and the engine was overheating.
That was my second car a Volck wagon Beatles back in the 80s.

About three weeks ago we had several nights with lows in the high forties here in Las Lomas de Azua. Constanza reported several days in the high thirties. There were reports of frost in Valle Nuevo.

Santiago weather is 10 degrees colder than the coastal town, Constanza however, gets much colder, trust me, I?ve been there when the river was completely frozen. Not fronzen like in the States where you could actually walk on the ice, but frozen nonetheless.

These type of temperatures in Constanza are related to the El Ni?o weather phenomenon. Usually on a five year interval.

the best thing about the weather, aside from a chance to cool off, is the wide range of fruits, vegetables, flowers, that can grow here, and this can only happen here!, nowhere else in the caribe, not in florida either......
