just a quick question.... although thanksgiving is a USA holiday..... have all of the dominican consulates closed up shop for the holiday weekend?! i have tried to reach them since yesterday, and i haven't been able to get anyone!!! sooo... i guess i will have to wait until monday..... or... maybe one of you could answer my question... i need to obtain a bussiness visa, i have the addresses for the consulates... but... i do not know the ctiteria that is needed for the bussiness visa..... besides a letter stating what i need.. my passport.... and a check.... but for how much?... i saw on one web page that a check for $25 covered the cost, but... i know of someone that paid $60 for her bussiness visa....

If the consulates are in the US, it is only normal that they will close for the US holiday. For instance, the US Consulate in the DR closes for both the US and DR holidays.

For visa requirements, try accessing the Ministry of Foreign Relations web site at http://www.serex.gov.do (English section). The requirements may have changed, but it will give you a general idea of what you need.

The cost of the visa will vary depending on which consulate you use. Suggest you shop around.
