My husband & I will be traveling from Boston to LaRamona on 11/9 with 2 other couples. We are all curious how other vacationers travel experiences to the DR have been since the events of 9/11. We know very little about the Coral Canoa, so any inside info would be helpful. Thanks. (ps- how's the weather?!)

I went to Coral Canoa earlier in the year, and liked it very much. Most people I know and have gone there don't have any complaints. Good service, good food, nice shows. Since then I always recommend the Coral Hotels.

Claudia- what should the men pack to wear at dinner? is the bottled water include as part of the AI? what type of beer, other than local, was available. Water sports- how were they? Did you take the snorkel trip to the island, if yes how was that?
Anything that I absoultely need to know, i.e what to or not pack. Thanks for your help!

You can wear anything you want for dinner. Some people get really dress up and some dress in shorts.
I don't remember if bottled water is included, but I suppose so since all local beverage is included. Didn't have time to take the trip (will do that next time) and the water sports looked pretty safe to me. Sorry I can't be more help but I just went for a weekend, and there are too many things to do in a couple of days. (I really just wanted to relax).

Hi Meredith,
The Coral Canoa is a good choice, really nice hotel with good service.
For the trip to the island you have some possibillities. First you can reserve at the hotel or you can go out and come to Bayahibe. If you're interesting to have more information about prices (cheaper than hotels), conditions or just to know more about Bayahibe, send me an e-mail.

Best regards.
