COSTS FOR SCUBA DIVING & SNORKELING..

hello,

I would like to know the costs for snorkeling and Scuba diving in Sosua. Is Sosua a good place to do those activities? And is it worth to try? Any comments would be appreciated. Please leave a message here or email me at: aqua_90@hotmail.com Thank you!

I've lived in Sosua for many years and was a diver in Southern California before I came here. If you only want to snorkel, Sosua's bay is lovely; not spectacular, but lovely. It is a very easy swim to the reefs. There is some more interesting diving near the tip of the airport peninsula and off the beach near Hotel Sosua by the Sea. Away from the Sosua area, I understand on the south coast there are a number of offshore islands which are quite nice. I've not seen them firsthand though. If you don't expect Cozumel or the barrier reef, you'll enjoy. Besides the beach itself is a beauty, a bit dirty at times, but beautiful I hope you'll come & enjoy our hospitality. Also the Dive School in town is very friendly and will help in any way.

Jack Wampler also suggests you contact this dive school when you get to Sosua. Prices will depend on the dive package to take.
