I am going to SD on my third trip in April. My las two trips I stayed in and around the city as there is much to do there.

However, I would like to expand my horizons and take a couple trips outside the city, either for one day or even overnight. I am not looking for picking up prostitutes or partying, I love the history and the culture.

One idea I have is to go to Bayaguana. Is this a good trip? Whats the best way to get there? Any links to hotels there? What is good to do there.

Next question, what other trips from SD are good.

When you're really feeling adventurous, set aside a little more time, take the Caribe Tours Bus to the north coast; enjoy the wonderful trip along the way that follows the Cordillera mountain spine, and than enjoy the great beaches at Sosua or Cabarette or go to Samana and check out Playa Rincon or stop off at Las Terranas and Playa Bonita. It's worth the four hour investment in time. I haven't gotten to Jarabacoa yet, but that's on my agenda. The DR is a spectacular place to vacation and you shouldn't limit yourself to the capitol, Boca Chica, and Punta Cana.
