I will be staying for seven nights - @ Melia Tropical- I would like to do 2 day trips - -Sousa Island excursion,4x4 Jeep Safari, Manati Park, etc, I have seen several others offered- IF you could only do 2 which would you do? One day during my stay - I want to do a resort scuba course(pool instruction during the a.m.) then dive during the day. Anyone that could offer some opionions would be great . Thanks, Mark 4-1/2 weeks left.

I don't know about the others, but you can forget about Sosua for a day trip, it is about 8 hours by auto or bus from PC

Hi Mark,

Some day trips you can do from Punta Cana are: Altos de Chavon, its a place made of limestone, where you would think that it was all build a very long time ago, but you'll be surprised... There you have a marvellous view into a valley where mother nature has done her utmost. Altos de Chavon also has a very large amphitheatre. Another example for a daytrip is the one by catamaran to the island Saona. Very relaxing! Or to Boca del Diablo, caving; if you like cities, than you must see Santo Domingo the capital. Enjoy your stay!

Bye,

Thea

Hi, I'm agree with the previous message about Altos de Chavon, you have to do it. I went to Manati Park too, it's a nice place, it's not to big, good shows: Dolphins, sea lions, perrots, birds, horses etc. There is an indian village "Taino" they have a show there too. I think it's worth it, I had my picture taken with a dolphin and my friend with a perrot, they sell the picture for $7.00 U.S. The beach is beautiful in Punta Cana.

Do you know of the feasibility of day trips to resorts? or short stays at resorts? I'm wondering if you can reply to this. Thank you for any information you have in advance. Johanna
