Dealing with a marpiolo

Since I broke up with my last girlrfriend, for reasons elsewhere explained in this forum, I found myself looking for a girlfriend.

Living in a higly touristic area, I am confronted daily with many marpiolos.

How should I react? Any chance that a marpiolo will actually lead me to a decent girl?

Can you tell us what marpiolo means? I looked it up and it's not in the Diccionario.

It's maipiolo... no maripiolo.... Maipiolo is the equivalent of a Pimp.... sort of... It's the guy or girl that plans to hook you up, or put a good word in for you to another person, so that she of he maybe interested in you...

And get your own.. a maipiolo might work... but trust your gut...

If you don't have trusted friends over there how can you trust what a maipiolo brings you.

I think is "manpiolo" (I can be wrong). Lottusflower's definition is "right on"!!.

maipriolo = a pimp/male version of a madam, may have one or several girls under his control or "protection"

The word is Mampiolo and I think this is very Dominican word, not to be found in the Dictionary Anna.

Lottus is correct with the definition and Criss is right, if you cant get a woman on your own, then you have bigger problems than not having girl.

Lastly, Mampiolos are mostly used when you are young and cant figure out how to get with your little boyfriend or girlfriend and an older person helps you out.

Sorry, that's "maipriola" in my previous comment. In the "olden days" when one went to a "house of ill-repute", the madam would receive you, make small talk, offer you a drink, and show you which of her girls were available at the moment. If you were interested in a girl with a special talent, she would gladly recommend the right one. When you were ready to leave, she would ask if all went well, ask you to return again, and maybe even accompany you to the door. This, of course, after collecting her money.
Ah, the good old days...

A maipriolo, on the other hand, is perceived as a pimp who may or not abuse his girls and usually has them working the streets for his benefit. Not an elegant profession...
