Delta service to STI.
delta is already in santiago since december 14, 2008
Delta start operation on may 2005...
We just moved the flight from JFK to ATL
No employees were layoff in STI....just reduce the frequency due to operatinal need, due to equipment issue.
Like they did few years ago...they launch services from ATL-STI....and few days later change the route...
They need some marketing in the spanish tv and radio. lOL
JFK-STI-JFK is always full of passangers around 150 to 170 seats when they used the 757-200 aircraft and 150 when they use the 737-800.
I dont know why they reducing ATL-STI-ATL to a single weekly flight, maybe they need to promote this route or aircraft issues.
Remember that delta was not in Santiago for 3 months, When delta ends the flights to jfk and they decided to open the route to atlanta on december. So between that period of time,those employees were working as normal?
I believe there were working normal at STI..theres only 2 Delta Employee in STI Station.
JFK-STI-JFk almost full, but those are leisure fares...which we need a 120% load factor to make $$$$.
At this point I am not sure how we doing on this routes. I need to check with the Regional Director.
Out of ATL , we move more mission groups on STi and SDQ routes with not issue of carry on bags and check bags.
I guess Delta need to talk to Univision/Telemundo for some marketing...
