I wish I could help you but I really don't know. I've heard la Guacara Taina is a nice club but I'm not sure if there's a lot of salsa and bachata...I also don't know how far/close it is to Boca Chica? if no one helps here, i'm sure people over there can orient you.

Good luck!

Bachata Salsa

There is a disco on Las Americas on the left side if you are in Boca Chica facing the Capitol. It's about one mile down from the shell station and its actually in Andres but so close to Boca Chica it dosen't matter. The name used to be Oxygena its been changed, and I don't know the new name. Also accross the street from the shell station in boca chica is a colmado that has the largest speakers in the world and locals bachata there on weekends. Under the, the underpass at las americas and the airport road on the right side is another local bachata hang out on weekends. It is outside and very crowed. Salsa is going to be a little difficult because it is a little harder than bachata. When the DJ plays a Salso turn most couples take a brake only the very best Salsa. Marenga is not a problem.

Hope I helped

There's a tipico in San Andres Boca Chica right on the beach, forget the name, but the locals know it. Take Duarte all the way down until it merges with the other streets and you'll run right into it, ask the locals they'll point it out to you. Tourists dance in the Hamaca if you're interested.

can you dance salsa??? are u Dominican?

Capitalenos are the ones exposed to salsa, so that's why u can find some places that play salsa and some Dominicans that dance it too, you won't find much salsa in the rest of the island, merengue and bachata is what moves everyone.

yes, i can dance salsa very well. i have taken formal ballroom dance classes on salsa as well as many trips to PR to learn. i have ballroom dancing outfits such as pants, shirts and shoes specifically designed for ballroom salsa dancing. and no, i'm not dominican. but i can tell you the music is the same but dominicans have their own style of salsa unlike no other country where salsa is played.

let's not stray away from the topic.

the best bet is the disco in adreas. THere is no good music in boca chica (except when ocassionaly they have live music...which i've seen a few times. but that is usualy for an occasion).

Most of the people there can direct you to where you want to go. The question is finding the right moto to get you back.

I DID got to this great "patio" in andreas on my last trip. I have been digging for the name of it tonight but i cant find the piece of paper I had it written on. I went with a dom friend of mine that i have known for years...so i felt safe...but had to take the guagua and then a motoconcho to the other side of the highway. I was a bit nervous...but once i was there i had a wonderful evening. The music was great the people warm and friendly. THe dance floor was small...kinda like a party in someones back yard. NICE!

Its run by a a boriqua...I will keep looking to find the name of the place.

The disco you are talking about that used to be Oxygena is now Makumba. The colmado at the underpass near the airport is called Plaza Mundo and the colmado across the street is called Jumbo Super Fria. On the weekends its fun espicially Makumba and Plaza Mundo but week nights there aren't a lot of people out and its pretty dead as you will soon learn on the streets of Boca Chica, even on Calle Duarte.

And Jrzyguy is right, you have got to make sure you have the right moto or atleast a taxi service (although those can be quite expensive) from your hotel to take you there and back esp. late at night!

But in all honesty if you are looking for good night life, go to Santo Domingo.
