Diving around Puerto Plata

I'm planning to come to a Puerto Plata area resort in December. I'm interested in doing some open water diving. What is available close by to see. Are there any wrecks or coral reefs in this area of D.R. ?? How is the water clarity on the north side ?? Is there shore diving. Is it drift diving ? Thanks! Tom

I did a few dives but not much. There are lots of really good dive areas including further afield wreck and cave diving. Water was very clear from what I can remember.

I used these bellow but this is just one of many good diving schools in the area, I'm sure they will be able to answer all your questions.
