Dollars from Dominican bank

I need to get dollars from any DR bank using my us bank debit card.Any suggestions?

Not knowing what fees might be incurred with your bank or the DR bank, it's possible that using a transfer service such as Remitly will actually be better. You would be able to choose what bank you wish to pick up the money from (BHD, BanReserva, Banco Popular, Caribe Express, and others). If you are a new customer with Remitly, they offer a no-fee transfer...can't beat that. But, doing it yourself at the bank would be immediate, so that may be a part of your decision

You would have to get pesos with it and exchange for Dollars. A lot of juice you would pay.............

As far as I know, you can only get pesos with your debit card. Then you’d use those pesos to buy dollars. Just make sure the bank has the dollars you want before you do the peso transaction

Most BHD branches have a lot of Dollars available............

Just go to western union online or app and send say $500 to yourself then go to any location and pick up in USD and trust me, it's cheaper and legal and faster.

Omg, it's back. #2 on the DR1 greatest hits album! The only topic that's beats this out is the overstayers/fees. Folks just don't understand basic money movements it's crazy.

@MiamiDRGuy is correct although I use Remitly and my trusted errand guy picks it up and brings it to me. If I know I'll be in town I just send it to myself. The girls at Caribe Express are cuter than Vimenca.

I use Xoom.com to send myself $US. I pick up the $ with passport at Caribe Express or you can choose to receive the cash at specific banks.

Speaking of Western Union, just sent myself $900USD. $10.99 total fee. Took less than a minute to send it with their app. Picked it up in Janet's while I was there. No line. Easy peasy.

Yes. If you select to pick up in pesos, W.U. gives you a really low exchange rate. Not recommended at all. And it was sent from my bank account. Fees are a lot higher if you use debit or credit card.
