The Dominican national basketball team will be competing in the FIBA World Cup, a qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Thirty-two teams are participating in the preliminary group stage. The Dominican Republic does not have a chance at qualifying.
The 14-member team under coach Nestor García is made up by players Adris De Leon, Rigoberto Mendoza, Jean Montero, Dagoberto Pena, Victor Liz, Luis D. Montero, Eloy Vargas, Gelvis Solano, Juan Migel Suero, Sadiel Rojas, Juan Jose Garcia, Eulis Baez, Ronald Ramon, and Ronald Roberts Jr.
Before the start of the FIBA World Cup, the Dominican team will play in the 2019 Suzhou International Basketball Challenge (Atlas Challenge) from 23-27 August.
