I'm a Dominican dad who is living in Indiana right now but I'm going back to new York to celebrate my daughter's 1st birthday. That being said, I'm looking for a "dependable" place I can go to have a nice cake made for her. I've been dealing with some different places but to be honest it's been very frustrating cause either they haven't kept any commitments on providing information to me (however they want to know how I'm going to pay) or they refuse to set a given price for the cake until I come see them in person. I know I'm a little removed from my days in nyc or DR, but all I want I a nice cake for my daughter. Somebody please help. My Spanish writing is terrible, sorry but I can read it so you don't have to respond in English.

If you have any contacts or information, please forward them to me @ fam1_ny@yahoo.com

Gracias!

Hey there-

If you would like to see what you can get in NY all the way from Indiana, try this link:

www.dominicancakes.com

They have their pricing and available cakes online.

Hope this helps some!

Indiana Guy - unfortunately the best Dominican cakes are still made in in someone's house or apartment. Which is why they are not all very 'business like' for your taste. The good thing is that if you follow up with them, they will give you what you need. DONT expect them to just do it off of one phone call - no face time or CASH.

There is an excellent place in Paterson, NJ... is a bit far for you, but if you want the info let me know.

Good luck!

Ha! Didn't even notice it... however it is pretty impressive what they can do with their barbies. For my baby shower, I had a dominican cake with a baby barbie baked into it and covered with a blanket of that super-sweet icing. Kind of creepy actually, but I guess it was the thought that counts!

Can I post a phone number of someone I know makes delicious dominican cakes at home? Queens, NY. I just had some of a cake she baked with dulce de leche filling, mmmmm, not too sweet and nice frosting.

I am going to NY in August and if you could give me the contact info I would love to get one of those homemade Dominican cakes.

Re: DOMINICAN CAKES

I think this is a great website for the cakes, I wonder if they ship to other states?

I asked and the answer was that they can FedEx it without the frosting. If you can get someone to decorate it then you are golden. To me, frankly, the decoration is part of the experience.
