This was yesterday in the Jalao restaurant in Washington Heights. That restaurant is a copy of the one in SD and owned by the same people.

As far as I know, that's the only hotel in NYC with a DR theme.

Yesterday Luis Abinader arrived to NYC.

These two events took place today (August 12). Technically they aren't about the parade, but the presence of Luis Abinader is due to his trip to assist the parade.

Giving keys to Dominicans living in the USA for homes in the DR acheived through the "Familia Feliz" Dominican government program for low cost housing. This was at the Dominican Consulate in NYC. It was the first time this was done outside the DR.

Giving recognition to several outstanding Dominicans by the INDEX (Instituto de Dominicanos y Dominicanas en el Exterior | Dominicans Abroad Institute). I don't know where exactly this took place, but it was in NYC.

In the end they make a tribute to two Dominicans that were officers of the NYPD and were killed on duty.
