Dominican Day Parade in New York City

The Dominican Day Parade is this Sunday, August 13th in New York City. The Parade begins at 1:00pm and is on Sixth Avenue between 39th and 58th Streets. I'm unable to return to Santo Domingo until the Thanksgiving holiday so maybe the Parade will give me a quick fix until then!!!

I so wanted to attend this party, but can't. I would appreciate, and I'm sure most other readers of this board would appreciate it too if you could provide a write-up of the event next Monday OR even provide an address for the NY paper which should have a cover story! Thanks!

Phyllis, there are two NYC Spanish-languages that will provide wonderful word and picture coverage of the parade. They are "eldiario/LA PRENSA" and "HOY". Also: are you in an area that carries UNIVISION on the cable??? If so, There will be TV coverage on the day of the parade.

I attended last year's parade and it was four hours of pure joy.
