Handball is not an easy sport. I played for a year or 2 in my very early 20s. Gave it up for raquetball after that. Gave up raquetball 20 years later to avoid knee and hip replacements.
Really you played Handball ? It’s big in Northern and Eastern Europe. I see the DR surpassed Cuba in another sport.

Yea a guy from my USMC boot camp turned me on to it. I played with him and a few other jarheads when I was in. However, raquetball is much more popular than handball, at least in the western and eastern US (I played in California, Maryland, and Arizona).

Isn’t Handball the team sport with 6 against 6 where one is a goalie. Somewhat similar to hockey.

Not the version we played. It was 1 on 1 or at max 2 on 2. Raquetball courts and handball courts are the same size so you can play either.

I just looked it up on youtube. It seems that there is a different version of it than I ever saw. I never even knew it existed until now.

I actually didn’t know the DR plays Handball. I had heard about Cuba and they used to be quite good. Maybe because of the Eastern European influence. No idea how the sport came to the DR. My country Denmark are world champions.
