With 173 posts you've never read about visitor's visa to the US?
It's not easy. Read the link to your country's laws about
visas
Here's a thread on
Dominican passports to get you started on the passport question.
Thanks, but this isn't really answering all of my question, i'll elaborate...the reason i am asking is that i'd like it explained to me in english. Im looking for the process to obtain a passport and then visa to US. The family member that i am inquiring about was basically already granted the visa, so i don't need to know about how u need so much in the bank, etc....the problem was the counsel said before they grant her a visa she has to bring the passport of her two children with her and obtain visas for them as well. For whatever reason the counsel will not let her come and leave the kids with her mother.
So, im wondering if someone could give me the steps, and costs, and time. From one of the links i read that the passport costs 1500 pesos and takes about 6 days (there is also a vip service). Thats something i was wanting to know. Now, once you've got your passport then where do you take it? San Pedro? Santo Domigo? Correct me if im wrong (here is where i need the help), but doesn't one have to purchase an appointment to meet with the counsel and does this cost approximately 100 USD? If so, isn't the waiting time approx one month? Would she have to pay $300 dollars, an appt for her, and her two daughters? And finally, if granted a visa, do they give you the visa that day? Pick it up another day?
The last i heard was that she had given the passports to "some guy" who was supposed to bring them to San Pedro for some reason and i honestly have no idea why she would have some guy do this or what he was actually going to do for her. Supposively this is what the guy does for people but he "lost" her papers. Anyways, i'd like to have the process explained to me in english rather than spanish.
