As the US Dollar has fallen in value against currencies like, for example, the UK pound due to the tariffs, the effect may be the same against the DR peso.

The USD and the DOP are both falling against bananas and Presidente beer. The DOP used to fall faster, the USD accelerated and now is falling faster than the DOP.

Exactly so:

EUR exchange rate was at 67.something a few weeks ago, then it got a bit lower, now it's going up again. Reference points Scotiabanks and WU.

Sorry, I got it slightly/partially backwards above. Indeed, the USD, just like EUR, are getting stronger against DOP. What I was referring to was this development. USD is just slightly losing value against EUR and EUR getting stronger (just like the USD) against DOP.

If you look at the exchange rate here, the USD has weakened pretty dramatically against the DOP

You're right on that, I see it has been pretty unstable recently:

I don't know where XE gets their rates from, but you can rarely get their published rate down here - not even at Banco Central which sets the official rate.

No, you don't get those rates but they should correlate with the curve. I don't get those rates but the rate I get here is based on those numbers.

When I pull dollars from my US bank, the dollar to peso exchange rate my bank uses is approx 1.25 pesos (after fees) below the xe.com posted rate. Pretty consistently
