It's the gold medal game... Dominican Republic against Puerto Rico in the finals. The game started with Puerto Rico leading in the first quarter, the Dominican Republic taking the lead in the second quarter by 5 points. Very close battled game.
Both teams were undefeated in Centrobasket 2012 until this game. Games are transmitted on TV by Channel 21 in Santo Domingo.
Both Puerto Rico, ranked 16th by FIBA and the DR, ranked 25th, seek to qualify for one of the three berths to the London Olympics that will be granted during the Olympics qualifier that starts 2 July in Caracas, Venezuela. The Centrobasket tournament serves to tune up the teams for the important event.
Coach John Calipari, Coach Cal, is in Puerto Rico in charge of the Dominican team.
