The DR is all about Cruise Ship ports and AI resorts.
More will continue to be built as the investors and government see fit.
That is where the revenue is. Pedernales is next. Those who like Florida Flat can stay in Punta Cana.
The government doesn’t realize it’s short term financial gain for long term environmental pain. I spent one week in Punta Cana years ago. No interest whatsoever in staying there again or investing in real estate. I’ve had a few side trips to Samana over the years and enjoyed them. The North Coast is still my DR home away from home, despite its problems.

I spent one week in Bavaro well before the hotel sprawl happened. It was one of the earlier resorts there. No need to ever go back there for me.

My wife does not care for Samana. She found the town to be "creepy" and we were neutral on Las Terrenas with no good reason to go back there.

We prefer Cabarete.

Revenue is the concern, not the environment.

The Casa Club of Vista Cana is almost complete, according to this short. Other things are visible from the pool such as the artificial beach. That beach will not have a problem with sargazo. lol The only beach in Bávaro guaranteed to be free of that?

Laying on the Vista Cana beach and reads on the frontpage of the newspaper: "The World's Largest Sargazo Will Reach Bavaro This Saturday."

Flips page without a care in the world while sipping on a piña colada. lol
