The guard was insulted that his authority was ignored, especially from someone he thought was under him (which is almost everybody unless you‘re very rich, they think you’re very rich or your last name is from certain families.)

Still wrong, but insult a Dominican in uniform or not and in many cases chances are that’s an insult the Dominican will not forget.

In this case, the Haitian attempted to take away the guard’s rifle. Big mistake.
