After an incredible first Concacaf Gold Cup loss of 3-2 to the very strong Mexican team (ranked 15th by FIFA) during the opening match, the Dominican Republic’s senior soccer team (ranked 139th by FIFA) now goes up against also experienced Costa Rica (ranked 54th) on Wednesday, 18 June 2025 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA. The two nations are meeting for the first time at the Gold Cup.
The Costa Ricans seek their second victory of the campaign while the Dominican Republic is in search of its first ever set of three points in the tournament. Costa Rica won its opening match 4-3 against Suriname (ranked 137th) on Sunday. The Dominican Republic will seek to rebound from its 3-2 defeat against Mexico on Saturday.
