It's a day of celebration in the DR. The Dominican Republic won the Caribbean Series, the world series of the baseball teams of the Caribbean, last night in the 12th inning. Puerto Rico had just scored to untie the game in the first half of the inning, and then the DR came back with a two-run rally to win the Series. In Santo Domingo, at about 12:15 am, the city suddenly awoke with cars taking to the streets with horns beeping, flags flapping, people taking out pots and pans to beat upon, and fireworks. The government is offering free transportation to the airport today for all who want to go salute the arriving Licey Tiger Champions. This is the third consecutive year the DR wins the championship. Story follows later on the DR1 daily news, but for now, check out
