We stayed at the Iberostar Costa Dorado, in Puerta Plata. You can wear anything you like, except in the "reservation" restaurants. There was no topless around the pool, but topless on the beach.
Bring nice shorts, one nice pair of slacks, and several shirts, like "preppy" t-shirts..... nice bathing suit... they give you a clean huge beachtowel everyday........... The restaurant buffet is casual also, but some dress, go on to the show, or the disco later.... they have "night fairs" where they bring in local vendors with their crafts.........
the young people wear whatever they want, the Disco is fun to bring a few good dresses for a woman, a man could use a nice pair of shoes that he'd wear only at night...........
