What is the age required to drink alcohol in the DR?

i think its 18 years, but i know the very young peoples drink any bar, because here nobody respect the law.

you can send a 3 year old to any bodega to buy beer for mommy or daddy and themselves

The age is 18, heavily enforced in many bars. In Boca Chica, it is enforced very heavily and lately, there have been raids throughout Santo Domingo so many bars in Santo Domingo are also enforcing the age (according to newspapers).

It's 18, but selectively enforced. "Discotheca's" in bigger towns/cities tend to enforce this more than bodegas or any kind of business in a smaller town.

THERE IS NOW LAW (LEY) IN THE DR. Off cource there is something on paper, but nobody follows the law in the DR.

you must be at least six years old,or in the company of of a six year old.Haven,t you noticed that everyone who is drunk seems to act like a six year old? Now you know why!
