Hello everyone. I hope all you guys are well.
I heard it a few years back about an emergency kit needs to be in every vehicle.
Just wondering if anyone can list these items.
Thank you in advance

The total price depends on what fire extinguisher you want, the cheapest one that probably won't help you in case if your car catches fire, or a good and bigger one that can be much more expensive.

Every Supermarket sells them, all together between 1000-1500 Pesos.
Ironically when i got my new car they were hard to find. had to piece it together myself.

It was such a huge money grab a few years ago when they implemented it hahah.

They actually implemented it many years ago, first aid kit was mandatory 20 years ago for sure, and triangle too.

First aid kits are usually available in pharmacies, and you can find triangles and fire extinguishers in places like La Sirena, Jumbo or ferreterias. And don't buy a cheap fire extinguisher, buy a good one, it can save your car someday.

If I remember correctly, some years ago they also wanted to make a reflecting vest mandatory, but never implemented it. But it's still good to have one in your car together with other safety stuff.

I've got all of those items in all of my vehicles, but not because of some well intentioned law.

On the other hand, My truck drivers have had to show them many times.

I only know one person who bought one about 8 years ago and I called him a fool. I was right.
When that "law": was first announced 8-10 years ago, literally millions of those were sold. They were everywhere. They fearmongered many people into buying one including me. Somebody in the government made a ton of money on those because you really didn't see them available anywhere before.

Good idea to have those items but I have yet to hear of anyone being asked if they have them(?).
it's only happened to me once. i got pulled over for some BS and after they went through all my documents. my license and were still looking for something to be a d*** about they asked if I had the items. This was years ago. Of course I had them.

I used to have all the items in a bag that I carried with me no matter which vehicle I was going to use.

Once I considered how cheap the whole bag was, I made one up for each vehicle, along with a rope and jumper cables.

I haven't worried about it since.
