ESPN on Delancer

I have been a Delancer subscriber for 5 years in Sosua. Recently, ESPN (the regular English ESPN feed from the USA) on channel 862 has been replaced by ESPN 4, a Spanish speaking version of ESPN, with different programming. A Delancer technician told me that ESPN 4 has replaced ESPN, no more ESPN. The Delancer office at Sirena Market told me it is a system problem and is being worked on. I still do get regular ESPN on channel 82, but not in High definition (HD) like the departed channel 862.
Anyone else experiencing this problem? Any information?

Yes but not delancer, I have telecable central, it changes sometimes, 4 yrs HBO in English, now only in spanish, Star channel 4 yrs, now gone, Cinemax comes and goes, etc etc. No issues with ESPN. These cable companies are lacking. Being worked on… sounds familiar, lip service, just to get rid of you…

Why rely on such inferior tech that you can't control? A fire stick with or without IPTV should answer all your concerns and potentially offer you thousands of channels and the ability to easily watch Netflix, Amazon and just about anything else most people would want. The cost is negligible

I hardly watch tv but my wife has certain things and certain channels she follows. We have had exactly the above problem, ours was with Claro (first satellite, then fiber optics) years ago. Ever since then, so about from 2020, we have had no tv service from any company in the DR. Just internet and just like windeguy said, everything via IPTV, and we're not going back.

Back in the day, in POP, when my wife lost one her favorite channels (HGTV) and that was screwed up by Claro, the explanation was that tv providers in the DR sometimes lose and sometimes win contracts with US providers, hence change in channels. I don't know if that is the truth, that's what I was told...

EDIT: now that I recall, part of the explanation heard as a rumor (from no company) was that sometimes apparently some channels are lost or changed due to lack of payment by the DR provider, so they just broadcast the channel as long as they can without paying and when the lose it, the customers see the effects of the non-payment.

I was surprised to learn that even my MIL, close to her 70s, only has Firestick...
