Hi, I'm a liberian at Neumann College and one of the adult students here is researching a paper on the fine arts (crafts, too) in the Doninican Republic. Can anyone help? Any advice/assistance would be appreciated. He can read Spanish (I read some as well.) I can probably also find my way through a French document...but even slower!! He needs quite a bit of material, from what I understand. Thanks in advance to any and all who take the time to respond.

I don't know much about the fine are in the DR. The locals set alot of trinket type things on the beach, I don't know if this is really Dominican style art and craft of what they think tourist want.

You may want to look into Altos de Chavon. It is an artist community on the south side. It is near La Romana. I believe that many of the artist who study there and sell there work there are from other countries so I am not sure if this would count as dominican fine art.

Good luck to you.
