I'd like suggestions for fine Dominican dining in Boston area - a a good Dominican friend of the family is celebrating a birthday and I'd like to identify really nice Dominican restaurants to treat him - any suggestions?

I can endorse Merengue as well. The food is good, the decor is nice and clean and inviting. The neighborhood is a little rough but hey. In Providence check out Carolina's on La Broa. The ambience and decor is not as refined but the food is real good.
