My slight research on the net showed me these:

Mercado de las Pulgas-Flea Market (Directions: Av. 30 de Mayo and. Luperon at la Feria, Santo Domingo)

Pulga de Antiguedades-Antique Flea Market (Directions: between Calle Las Damas and Isabel la Cat?lica at the Plaza Mar?a de Toledo , Colonial Zone)

Which one of these 2 flea markets (if they are not the same thing) is better?

I'm a big flea market guy. I know that I'll probably see alot of the things I normally see en El Conde. But which one of these will give me some not often seen, or weird things. If they are both worthwhile, then I will just go to both of them, one this week and one the next.

Anyone else go to these and can tell me at what time they tend to get started? Thanks.

You might enjoy the flea market at Luperon and George Washington Ave. Coming from ZC take the Malecon heading west for about a 10-15 minute drive. You can't miss it. Open Sundays early morning until about mid afternoon.

It you like looking through piles and piles and piles of junk looking for that special gem than this is the place to be.

Parque de Diversion is right next to the flea market. A lot of locals buy their lunch from the street vendors and go sit by the ocean behind Parque de Diversion.

I thought I was the only DR1er to ever visit the flea market.

Not that I am cheap or anything, but I love nothing more than a flea market or thrift shop. I have some pictures of that same flea market somewhere, but I can't be bothered to find it. :)

I have bought a lot of old books from that flea market, other than that I can't recall ever finding anything of value. I would love a good thrift store here.

The one in Ciudad Colonial has mostly antiques and assorted trinkets. I am not a collector so I never bought anything either.

Any of you going to be there tomorrow? There's a 50% chance I may be there. When you say early in the morning, do you mean 7am or 10am? Thanks.

I had a sealed box with some keyboards and mouse ready to ship to SD but when I saw the lonely keyboard in one of the pictures, I ripped the box open and took them all out.
