Hi, has anybody any idea of the cost of a one way ticket from Santo Domingo to London. I have checked the cost over here and they start from $1000.00USD. Thank you.

Looked into a round trip fare recently for mid- october. Air France offered best i found. Just over 800 US$ with change in Paris.

Check the charter companies who bring in english tourists from london and manchester to puerto plata. Thompson is one of the companies. Ask to see if they have a empty seat outbound from Dom. rep. They may be willing to sell it to you at a much lower cost than going back empty. They lose money if there are empty seats on the plane. They would rather get something for it.

I agree with AZB that you could try the British Tour operators (Thomsons, First Choice, JMC, AirTours & Cosmos), but they are a bit reluctant to sell seats due the an American Airlines agreement that Charter Companies should not sell tickets OUT of the Dominican Republic.
The above do flu out of Santo Domingo too, so get hold of the company's local office & get them to do some checking for you. You might have to settle for one weeks notice of flight or even a last minute avaiability - but it CAN be done & price used to be about ?200. If you are coming back, the round trip @ US $800 sounds like a good bet. Flight only from UK presently is ?500 PLUS!! - Grahame.

I live in the DR and could not buy a ticket here. For some reason my sister had to buy in the UK a return ticket and a single back to the DR for me. I only used the return and it cost me US$600 during Christmas week and $US300 for my three year old daughter. I flew Britania which was a OK. Also try a airline company called Air 2000 who offer similiar deals.
