flights from SDQ

Hola,
I was wondering if anyone was aware of how far in advance I would need to reserve/book tickets on Air Santo Domingo for a flight to Puerto Plata. I found the airsantodomingo website, and it showed prices and flight times, but said nothing of advance reservations. Just received tickets in the mail yesterday. A friend and I are arriving in Santo Domingo on March 14th and I am leaving on the 22nd. I have been to Sosua and Cabarete before, and I feel that we would have the best time in one of these two towns rather than on the south coast. We're looking for mountain biking, surfing, etc, and I know where to find it on the north coast, which probably has cheaper accomodations as well. Thanks in advance for the information.

Why not the bus?

Air SD flies out of the Herrera airport last I heard..
with the cab fare and the price of flight (to and from the
airport from the SD airport 700 pesos rt plus to and from the
POP airport to Sosua 400 pesos plus the airfare which rt should
be about 1850 pesos.. So you are looking at 2950 pesos or $177, I'd recommend that
you just take the bus from SD to Sosua (cab fare to and from
the bus station and the SD airport 600 pesos and the bus to and
from Sosua being 220 pesos, a total cost of 820 pesos.. $49..
You'll save about $128 taking the bus rather than the plane..

Take the bus it is a great trip. I have taken the bus and love the trip. It is easy and friendly people ride and run the bus lines there. There is a link to bus lines on this page.
