Dear All,

Last Sunday I was at Las Am?ricas airport and to my surprise saw that they were expecting a flight from London. When I asked at the desk, I was told that charter flights do this a few times a year for the cruise ships. Can anyone tell me how often they do this and what company it is?

I would love to find out for my family as a direct flight (even if just one way) to Santo Domingo would be such an easier way to travel.

Cheers!

Ok I may be able to help.

The company I know of is Thomson and they only fly in the summer months usually on a sunday I think one a week to start and then upto 3 in high season. However I am sure that you can only fly from Uk to here return not the other way around as they have an agreement not to take away local business.....and the fact they are about half the price return as it is for a one way from here. Other companies to check are Mytravel and thomascook they normaly fly to Punta Cana and Puerta Plata but sometimes fly to Las Amaricas.

The one and only time I took a direct flight from the UK to the DR was to AILA, on a charter flight-only deal in the summer - Thomas Cook or Thomsons, from LGW.
