Can anyone give information on the direct connections from the DR to Ireland. I understand there is a direct flight from Puerto Plata to Shannon. Anyone know the contacts for that flight?

Also, what would be the least costly connection to fly to Dublin? Probably a connection through New York or Miami?

Anyone familiar with this route, please let me know the lower cost way to travel.

AA has flights to Shannon and Dublin non stop from Chicago now. You'd can do a short flight to San Juan and a nonstop to Chicago then connect.

You can also do SDQ to JFK and connect to an AA codeshare to Dublin on Aer Lingus. SDQ-JFK 1120 arriving 305 p.m. connects to AA7970 (Aer Lingus) at 6 p.m. arriving DUB at 5:30 a.m.

Same for Shannon - leave SDQ at 251 p.m. arrive JFK 6:41 p.m. and connect to AA 7982 departs 10 p.m. arrives 9:15 a.m.

My travel site shows the cheapest fare without taxes at US$870 on Alitalia if available. There are 48 different fare/airlines combos. Try AA.com to see since you need the dates etc., first.

Looking for a charter because the AA and Continental connection is over US$2,000.

Or combination fares. Can get a fare of US$300 to NY/Miami and from there connect. Probably should be looking at fare sales from NY and Miami.

Don't want to pay more than US$1,000.

Anyone familiar with the Puerto Plata charter to Ireland, please let me know.

Heya Dolores

flights to the fyer setty(DUB) seem to be operated by Monarch Airlines, http://www.flymonarch.com/cnt/chartered/wherewefly/index.asp?r=1&cg=2&mode=dtl on a charter basis
Tour operator and booking agent is Sunworld of Ireland
http://www.sunworld.ie/destinations/dominican_republic.htm
For bookings to POP: http://www.sunworld.ie/ from there select Browse Availability, Flight Only, and then the obvious. BUT... I am sure you will not be able to book a POP outbound through their site, therefore better contact them directly,

Dolores,
Try having a word with Ashley who is with the Monarch operation at this end. His number USED to be 320 0611 but I am sure they will be able to advise his new number if I am a bit out of date. I will probably see him at the airport next week, so if you have no luck, PM me with requirements & I'll get him to contact you!! ~ Grahame.

Thank you all. Looks like Air Europa (via Madrid) will be putting together a special fare for our group. Will post when I get the info, so if others are interested they can try for the same.
