No fights to the BVI from SD. You will have to fly to San Juan first and from there to Beef Island (Tortola). My husband and I are huge fans of the BVIs (well, after the DR ;-)) and what we usually do is to take the ferry to Tortola from Red Hook in St. Thomas. That is still the best way to arrive in the islands - by boat. There are no ferries from SJ though. Hope this helps.
