I do not think so. A few years ago there were several regularly scheduled commuter flights, but they petered out as the highways got better.

If there are regular flights, I am sure the PJU will let us know...

- Volair does have a regular CARGO flight operated on behalf of UPS STI-SDQ.......

They have PASSENGER service to MDST operated in a Britten Norman BN-2A..
CARGO flights by VolAir in MDST are operated in Cessna 402's and not to MDSD...it's MDJB..

CAB is Cape Haitien (Cabo Haitiano) (MTCB)

Ok...

- Volair doesn't have a C402.... the only regularly operated C402 in STI is HI744 operated by Air Century on behalf of DHL.......

- Cap Haitien is not CAB or MTCB it is MTCH/CAP and Volair doenst operate a regular flight on that route from STI... from time to time they take their Jetstream HI862 to CAP from STI but on ferry flights or flights with maintenance personnel on board

The BN2 HI845 from Volair can come to STI from SDQ, JBQ, POP etc to their hangar, until is 3'oclock to then go to the cargo area and do the Cargo flight for UPS....

The cargo flights from Air Century and Volair on behalf of DHL and UPS respectively go to MDSD/SDQ from STI, they DO NOT go to MDJB/JBQ. These are feeder flights to take cargo from Santiago to Las Americas to then be transported from SDQ to wherever....

Conclusion for the OP: there are NO regular DOMESTIC flights from STI airport, only charters.....

El que te dio la informacion que te consta te la dio equivocada.

It seems that you rely to much on the information of webpages.

1- The graphic that is in the volair page clearly states herrera as an operating airport.... it is obviously not up to date.

2- The picture that you attach was taken by yourself in November of last year, and is taken on the taxilane just in front of position B1 rolling to E1 (E2 is in the background) which means that is coming from the cargo ramp.... yes the cargo ramp. Can't you se the boxes behind the pilot???

3- Call Volair yourself ant try to book on one of those "regular" flights to see if they have regular prices.... Al Domestic flights from STI at the moments are charters...

4- I spend over 45 hours a week in the MDST ramp ... I havent seen this regular passenger flights you point out. Maybe I need a new job ;).

5- Call those people that let you up to MDST tower, ask them (if they are controllers) how many Volair flights they get every day.... HI-845 Monday trhu Friday on CARGO DUTIES TO SDQ

STIOP, you are playing a flute to a cow.
I suggest you save your valuable info for people who really do appreciate your input in airline matters. I, for one, would have taken your words as coming out of 10 commandments.

Even when we (STIOP and I) don't agree too much in several other points, here he's correct 100%... STI Does NOT operates regular domestic flights at all, only charter and on several occasions, some flights that given their continuity give the appearance of regular flights to the regular folk.

There's talk to have a regular domestic service provided by a local air taxi company, but the funding for the planes is still not there as of yet.

I know this b/c I have full knowledge of day to day operations in STI and other major airports of the DR in service today.

That a given company that offers charters in a regular matter, decides to post they offer "regular" domestic flights is just a commercial gimmick.

There's not even an official regulation yet in STI to this end as of today. The regulations will be posted as soon as the first regular domestic service is provided by anyone so interested in doing so.

Keep in mind, that all flights must have permission to operate to and from STI as well as other airports in the DR. Save for the ones in service for small planes.
