Foreigner accused of sexual exploitation of minors sent to jail in Puerto Plata

A Puerto Plata court has ordered the arrest of German citizen Gerhard Karl Strasser. Strasser who is charged with being the leader of a criminal network dedicated to the sexual exploitation of minors online.

The case is heard by Judge Romaldy Marcelino Henríquez. The court ordered preventive detention at the San Felipe Correction and Rehabilitation Center in Puerto Plata.

Prosecutors Carmelina Soto, Michael Núñez and Ana Mariela Hernández established that the defendant operated a criminal network dedicated to the exploitation of minors between 4 and 10 years of age where these interacted sexually with each other and with adults, in addition to sexually exploiting them for marketing purposes via the Internet and charging online for the service.
