Couple's Caribbean holiday ruined by dead body, drugs and pool sex
A couple say travel firm TUI offered them £200 vouchers as compensation for the "nightmare" holiday.

One of the main reasons I avoid hot tubs at resorts. Fecal coliform, other types of bacteria and viruses, can survive and thrive in that environment despite the hot water temperatures and filtration. Legionnaires disease has been transmitted in them. Chlorinating helps prevent a lot of those problems but hot tub water is not always chlorinated.Sounds like the vacation from hell, but also sounds like the culprits were the other clientele rather than the hotel. Feces in the pool?? 🤮
True but isn’t it how the majority travel. Not a good image for the DR.Amateurs ..
But Mr Stevens said their £2,800 stay at the Riu Republica Hotel became a "nightmare" and he felt "let down" by the holiday operator's offer.
The hotel is known to be somewhat of a "party resort". Prices are lower compared to some other resorts. Does not make it a bad hotel, just be realistic about what to expect. I remember a general manager of a resort explaining to us why most all resorts close their pools around 6pm. They need to "bomb" the pools with chlorine/chemicals due to the build up from tanning oils (murky water), etc... We have been to several resorts in Punta Cana and I have never seen feces in the pools. Then again, I rarely go in the pools.
