Authorities of Sosúa meet to face the problem of prostitution on Pedro Clisante Street
In a meeting headed by the governor Claritza Rochtte and the mayor Wilfredo Olivences, various institutions and sectors of the municipality of Sosúa made an appointment to deal directly and responsibly the growing situation of prostitution on Pedro Clisante Street.
During the meeting, both the governor and the mayor expressed their concern about this problem that affects the image, order and coexistence of Sosúa. They both agreed on the need for concrete and sustainable actions.
Mayor Wilfredo Olivences proposed the creation of a special commission
that will visit the area to raise awareness, dialogue and take control measures in coordination with the relevant authorities. This initiative was supported by all present, who pledged to work together to find real and lasting solutions.
The meeting had the participation of representatives of the People's Ombudsman, the Ministry of Public Affairs, the National Police, the Dominican Air Force, Politur, as well as community leaders, members of the press, businessmen and neighborhood boards, representatives of Christian Churches and foundations.
Also participated Noa Ceballos, president of the Foundation La Voz de Noa, who has been an active voice in favor of order and social welfare in the municipality.
With this firm step, Sosúa moves towards a more organized, safe and dignified environment for its residents and visitors
