PUERTO PLATA.- A foreign citizen and a moneylender decided to take their own lives by committing suicide separately in towns in this Atlantic jurisdiction.

It was learned that German citizen Cordula Herdman, 54, jumped into the void from the steepest part of the emblematic bridge located in the San Felipe Cable Car in Puerto Plata.

The lady had lived for many years in the tourist town of Sosúa and according to reports, she had already attempted suicide before because she was allegedly suffering from terminal cancer.

The other case of suicide is that of Mr. Juan Peralta (Papo), who was found without vital signs and with a bullet wound inside his residence in the Maranatha sector of Sosúa.

Peralta was a much-loved man in Sosúa, having worked as a moneylender for years, which is why a large number of citizens mourned his death and the authorities launched the necessary investigations.
